Workshops to raise awareness about our environment
After devoting fifteen years to fundamental research—in the field of astronomy as applied to ancient Egypt—and then fifteen years to documenting, through photographs, photographisms, and 2D or 3D animations, the formation and evolution of our Earth in the Universe and Life on Earth—up to the Anthropocene, the time has come for me to devote myself to protecting our environment and the living beings that animate and transform it. Because the need is urgent. To this end, several initiatives will be launched. Examples include organizing and leading workshops on the topic of biodiversity.
July 3 - September 4, 2026: Contribution to the revision of the SCoT for the Pays Lauragais (Occitanie, France)
The environment in which we live is a crucial component of our well-being. The resources that make up this environment—the soil, air, and water—as well as the wildlife that inhabits it, are under numerous pressures caused by human activity (including agriculture, industry, urban development, and tourism), compounded by the devastating effects of ongoing climate change: heat waves, droughts, floods, and soil erosion.
How can we adapt our territory to current and future climate change? How can we balance human activities with the preservation of soil, water resources, and biodiversity by 2050? These were some of the questions raised during the revision of the Territorial Coherence Plan (SCoT), which serves as the Air, Energy, and Climate Plan for the PETR (Pôle d'Equilibre Territorial et Rural) of the Pays Lauragais (*). Local residents were invited to share their expertise and insights on these issues during the summer of 2026.

Several members of the Revel-based association Vert Ici gathered for a workshop to address the issues raised by the revision of the SCoT. Personally, I focused on issues related to biodiversity: restoring soil structure, protecting water resources, preserving wildlife in built-up areas, mapping ecological corridors, and balancing renewable energy production with biodiversity conservation. June 6, 2026: Participation in the « Les nuits des forêts » festival (Montagne Noire, Occitanie, France)
The Festival Committee of the City of Revel, in partnership with the Museum of Wood and the Hiking Club, organized a series of workshops on June 6, 2026, on the theme of biodiversity in the Managed Biological Reserve of l’Aiguille (Communal Forest of Les Cammazes, Montagne Noire, Occitanie, France). This event was part of the 6th edition of the « Les nuits des forêts » festival, which aims to « promote new balances between humans and the natural world at the local level, and to foster the emergence of new collective narratives ». In this context, I led a workshop on nature photography and citizen science. Together, we explored the Montagne Noire and its inhabitants!
