Les plafonds des temples de Séthi I (21) et de Ramsès II (22) à Abydos, des tombes de Merenptah (23) et Tausert (24) dans la Vallée des Rois, du temple de Ramses III à Medinet Habou (25), des tombes de Ramsès VI (26), Ramsès VII (27) et Ramses IX (28) dans la Vallée des Rois, apparaissent moins bien préservés en revanche. Au vu des descriptions données par Ipolitto Rosellini, Richard Lepsius, Heinrich Brugsch, Eugène Lefébure, George Daressy, Alexander Piankoff, Porter et Moss ; enfin, Neugebauer et Parker, l'imagerie céleste développée en leur sein semble par ailleurs dériver de celles développées au plafond de la tombe de Senmout à Deir el-Bahari, du cénotaphe de Séthi I à Abydos, de la tombe de Séthi I, du temple de Ramsès II et de la tombe de Ramsès IV à Thèbes Ouest. Notre étude se focalisera donc essentiellement sur le contenu de ces vestiges datant des XVIIIème et XIXème dynasties (29).
