Founded in 1997, the Cité de l'Espace, Toulouse, hosts over 250,000 visitors per year, to which it offers various performances and activities including exhibitions, conferences, events, planetarium sessions, space experiments, etc.
Since January 2007, a new show entitled "The Stars of Pharaoh" is proposed. It introduces the public to the Egyptian knowledge of astronomy in relationship with various myths, on an image synthesis background: the pyramids of the Giza plateau, the temple of Hathor at Dendera, the Jubilee temple of Ramses II at Western Thebes, the Tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings, the great temple of Abu Simbel, etc.. Since April 9, 2008, this show is translated into sign language, and therefore accessible to deaf and hearing impaired.
The writing of the screenplay is a collaboration between the Astralia (Cité de l'Espace) and the Culture Diff' company.
